about

Screaming Jay Jono
Hitchockian, burlesque and quirky.
Purposely designed to frighten young chidren ? .... actually the perceptions of Jack - when a four year old Hackney schoolboy: An insight into Jack's slightly disfunctional childhood.

lyrics

Screaming Jay Jono -frighten small children with this song !

Packamac, Caramac, Coca- Cola
Sasparilla. I'm Rocking, I'm Rolling
glycerin pipping lips
in grainy monochrome
Rolling down the verdant bank
I just wanted to get home
saw aprons in the food shop
brewers forming chains
horses, reins, and flat capped men
stinking & labouring in the rain

My sweet old nanny's eyeball
it fell out onto the floor
She used her chintz print pinny
to put it back in once more

Her house? - it smelt of paraffin
which she disguised with pot pourri
She baked caraway cake
and kept budgerigars
and made many pots of tea

Sister Ajina - an Irish nun
was only four foot four !
She whipped me with her rosary beads
and I pissed upon the floor
I was only five and I'd tried to answer
her "question ninety-nine"
(concerned with poltergeists & exorcisms)
It was taking me some time
but, considerately she hushed the class
and then explained with great delight...
how, "... evil spirits may break a vase or two
... when you're warm in bed at night"

A crumpled bird inside a box
eyes as black as night
It sang no song - so no one knew
its majesty and might

Bring my Pater and a ladder
I am stuck up on this cliff
the geology is treacherous
I might soon lose my grip !

Mortal sins? Venal sins?
Blood red scarlet sashes
I'm full of fire
I hone my blade
and then start wildly slashing

Swinging high, swinging low
the best day of my life
beetles rustle in the leaves
in the grimey fading half light

Bongo Bill & Ernestine
Thomas Cromwellian Pom
Putschdagabotsch & Harry Head
Hitchcock boys and men

Timbo, Grilloks -Okker
Steve so strong and tall
Michael ....the ... Bicycle
They're all now dead and gone

Dad knocked two urchins
from the oozing conker tree
He threw up sticks that hit heir backs
and they fell onto their knees

Screaming Jay Jay Hawkins
Chewed bazooka Joes
Jiving Haley's Comets
kisscurls from their combs
Slimline Elvis Presley
Chubby Checker Twists
The distant drums
of poor Jim Reeves
the busman Matt Munro

about

Jack Daedelus Kent, UK

In his teens Jack jammed with Frank Dooley & John McGeoch (RIP). As a songwriter & performer Jack made some records, supported Iron Maiden & David Johansen and somehow blagged writing the music for one or two TV shows.

Although stymied in wage slavery Jack still gets out to gig in London from time to time. Artist Manqué ?

Jack thought it wise to put out an album before he goes out in his box
